9. NORWICH Cathedral (Norfolk). In the sanctuary, under the 4th stall seat east of the northwest corner (N7) is a magnificently carved misericord, which portrays Sir Thomas Wingfield of Letheringham (d.1378), in full armor, & his wife, Margaret nee Bovile, the Letheringham heiress, in a low-cut, close-fitting dress, and two coats of arms, Bovile and Wingfield. They are the 5-greats grandparents of Edward-Maria Wingfield, the Founding Father of Jamestown, VA (1607, with Bartholomew Gosnold), and the 7-greats grandparent of Thomas Wingfield of York River, Virginia (1680).
