Obituary - Martha Wingfield
Martha Wingfield, age 74 passed away on February 14, 2005 after a long battle with heart and kidney diseases. She fought hard to the very end with the support of her family and many friends. Born in 1930 to Elijah Toy and Fleeta Lee Joslin of Enola she spent her younger years in North Little Rock, Arkansas, graduating from North Little Rock High School in 1948. She was married in 1949 to Fred. O. Wingfield, Jr. and moved to Benton, Arkansas in 1950 where she spent 47 years as a loving wife and devoted mother of two sons, Bruce and Keith.
In 1997 they moved to Maumelle to enjoy a peaceful retired life. She and her husband were members of St. James United Methodist Church of Little Rock where they were participants in the New Challenges Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Wingfield, and two sons, Bruce Wingfield of Westerville, Ohio, and Keith Wingfield of Little Rock and his four children, Katie Wingfield, Brad Wingfield, Carrie Wingfield, and Anna Wingfield. She is also survived by a brother, Darrell Joslin of Trinity, Texas and a sister, Paulette Berger of Farmington, Arkansas, who have both remained lifelong friends to her.
Visitation was Tuesday, February 15, 2005 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock.
A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Hwy 5, Alexander, Arkansas with Reverend Don Nolley officiating. She will be missed greatly in this life but has received the blessing of eternal life.
