Obituary - Willene V. Wingfield Kinney

Willene V. Wingfield, age 72 died Sept. 19, 1993 after a long illness. Born Sept. 17, 1921 in Magazine, Ark to Walter and Fannie Wingfield. Her mother died when Willene was 5 yrs of age and at age 9 moved with her father and several brothers to Elk City, Okla living in the Merritt Community, graduating from Merritt High School in 1940. During her Senior year, sang on KASA Radio with her brother, Ruble Wingfield, known as "The Elk City Hatchery Twins". After graduating, married Paul Kinney in 1940 and to that union 4 children were born. Larry Gale Kinney, 1943-1948, died with polio. surviving, husband, Paul Kinney of the home; and children, Carolyn Sue Graham, OKC, Ronnie R. Kinney, OKC, Lonnie F. Brock of Duncan, Okla; six grandchildren, Debbie Benson, OKC, Michael Graham, OKC, Shannon and Allison Kinney, OKC, Amanda and Julie Brock of Duncan, Okla; twin great granddaughters, Hannah and Grace Benson; two brothers, Jack and Ruble Wingfield of Elk City, Okla; and one sister, Viola Yocom of Fieldton, Tx and a host of friends. The family request donations may be made to the Leukemia Society of America. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary Colonial Chapel South. Graveside services and burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City Okla.
